The message “No pricing procedure could be determined” means SAP could not find a pricing-procedure determination entry for the input combination supplied by the sales document. It does not mean that every pricing condition is missing, and it is not reliably fixed by changing an unrelated customer or order setting.

In the SAP S/4HANA demonstration, the error long text shows a key made from the sales organization, distribution channel, division, document pricing procedure and customer pricing procedure. The exact values are system-specific, but the diagnostic route is reusable. SAP documentation confirms that pricing procedure determination uses the sales area, customer pricing procedure and document pricing procedure.

Map the determination inputs

Think of the lookup as this flow:

`Sales organization + distribution channel + division` `+ document pricing procedure` `+ customer pricing procedure` `→ pricing procedure`

The sales area comes from the document context. The document pricing procedure is normally assigned through the sales document type. The customer pricing procedure comes from the customer's relevant sales-area data. The determination table must contain the same combination and point to the intended pricing procedure.

A controlled diagnostic sequence

  1. Reproduce the error in a test or authorized troubleshooting context and open the message long text. Record every key value shown.
  2. Confirm the sales organization, distribution channel and division on the sales document. Do not assume the values from the user's description.
  3. Check which document pricing procedure is assigned to the document type used by the order.
  4. Display the sold-to party or relevant customer role for the same sales area and verify the customer pricing procedure.
  5. Inspect pricing procedure determination for the complete key combination. In on-premise systems this is commonly maintained through the “Define and Assign Pricing Procedures” configuration and transaction OVKK; cloud configuration differs.
  6. Confirm that the resulting pricing procedure exists and contains the required condition types. Then retest the same business case.

Illustrative example

A fictional order uses sales area FR10 / 10 / 00. Order type OR supplies document pricing procedure A. The customer master supplies customer pricing procedure 1. The determination table contains FR10 / 10 / 00 / A / 2, but no row for FR10 / 10 / 00 / A / 1. SAP cannot choose a pricing procedure for the actual inputs.

The correction is not automatically “change 1 to 2.” First decide whether the customer classification is correct. If it is, an authorized configurator should assess whether a determination row for A / 1 belongs in the design. If the customer was classified incorrectly, correct the master data under the normal governance process. Retest and inspect the determined procedure and conditions.

Do not confuse procedure determination with condition records

A missing pricing procedure stops SAP before it can process the procedure's condition types. A determined procedure with a missing price can instead indicate a condition-record, access-sequence, validity or field issue. Read the current message and pricing analysis; do not jump from one problem class to the other.

Verification checklist

Retest the original document combination. Confirm the error is gone, record the pricing procedure selected, inspect the pricing conditions and net value, and check that taxes, discounts and accounting relevance behave as designed. A successful save alone is not enough.

FAQ

Which three categories drive the lookup? Sales area, document pricing procedure and customer pricing procedure.

Does the error prove the customer master is wrong? No. It proves the complete determination combination was not resolved; each input and the table entry must be checked.
